(4 of Cups) supported by (Judgement)
In the traditional Rider Waite tarot deck, the 4 of cups depicts a figure sitting under a tree, looking withdrawn or disinterested as they contemplate three cups before them, while a fourth cup is being magically offered by a hand from a cloud.
As my mentor once shared with me, this can be interpreted as the “Maybe” card…
The person might be feeling undecided, uncertain or disconnected to how they truly feel about a situation or what direction would be best for them, however, the sturdy tree signifies the availability of support and strength, even if not immediately recognized.

The 4 of Cups
When the Four of Cups appears in a reading, it challenges you to wake from your introspective daydream and explore the possibilities that life is currently presenting you, urging you to be mindful of the opportunities that you might currently be overlooking. It signals a time to get out of your head and into your heart, where true answers reside. See this as an invitation to embrace the chance to reach out for something new and meaningful. Like the sturdy tree in the card, you have strong support to lean on. This support can help stabilize your emotional world and guide you in making choices that lead to greater fulfilment and joy.
Judgement
Judgement also known as the “Spirit of Primal Fire” symbolizes profound transformation. Fire purges and reduces the outgrown and obsolete that prevent new ideas from emerging. This card signals that you are on the verge of a significant life-changing realization or rebirth. Depicting an angel sounding a trumpet above the resurrected who rise from their graves, this is an invitation to awaken to your truest most authentic Self. Judgement asks you to heed the call of your inner spirit and to embark on a path of spiritual evolution, moving forward in a way that is fully awakened and aligned with your deepest truths.

In Summary:
Spirit is everywhere at all times and in all places, yet until you awaken to its presence it appears absent. You are being called to awaken to your inner guidance and consider what changes are necessary to align more closely with your true desires and purpose. These cards encourage you to shed anything that no longer serves you—be it outdated negative beliefs, unhealthy relationships, or old self-images—and to embrace your higher calling. Let go of anything heavy or dense and embrace the new light that is being offered.
